Gender Equality, Inclusive Governance and the Law: Aligned for a Better World

In mid-2017, Canada announced an overhaul of its foreign policy priorities in diplomacy and defence, in trade and in international development. Calls for wider inclusion, new institutional alignments and renewed emphasis on rule of law are steeped within these policies. All are deemed necessary for a better, safer, more just, more prosperous, and sustainable world.

This is a conference designed for us to examine what is “dawning” in Canadian foreign policy and in particular what’s in the new Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP).

This year’s conference will feature three key streams:

  • Canada’s new Foreign Policy
  • Skills and Tools
  • Partnering and Finance
