On November 4th 2014, the Government of Canada launched one of the largest calls for proposals in recent years. The $370 million call is focused on Canada’s top development priority: maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH).

Spanning the years from 2015-2020, the Partnership will focus on strengthening health systems, reducing the burden of disease, improving nutrition and ensuring accountability for results. This first call for proposals has a deadline of January 15, 2015.

But what is MNCH? Who is working on MNCH in Canada? And how can you find out more?

The Inter-Council Network of Provincial and Regional Councils for International Cooperation (ICN) hosted Dr. Helen Scott, Director of the Canadian Network for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (CAN-MNCH), for a timely webinar on the work of the CAN-MNCH on December 9 2014. She explored CAN-MNCH’s successes, lessons learned, and the incredible power of collaboration as organizations across the country come together to meet this global challenge.
